Coffee producers in Mozambique want to see the adoption of a national strategy for the development of a product value chain, while pointing up the availability of specific equipment for the promotion of the crop as another requirement for the development of the sector.
The proposals were put forward last Thursday in Maputo, by the Executive Director of AGROTUR, Francisco Mandlate, at the launch of the Mozambican Association of Coffee Growers (AMOCAFÉ).
Sofia Molina, representing the company Café da Gorongosa, said that diversification of coffee species cultivated could help increase production.
AMOCAFE was created to encourage the cultivation and consumption of coffee in the country with a view to promoting the growth of family income through sustainable actions and practices.
The AMOCAFE launch ceremony proceeded under the motto, “Celebrating the Power of Coffee”.
