Mozambique: Chinese citizen kidnapped in Matola – Watch

A Chinese citizen was kidnapped yesterday in the Mahlemele neighbourhood, Municipality of Matola, outskirts of Maputo. The kidnappers shot the victim’s mother in the leg.
A group of six kidnappers shot a Chinese businesswoman in a construction material yard in Matlemele on the Maputo Ring Road in Matola municipality, and kidnapped her son, aged approximately 30-year-old.
The gang of criminals went into the site not to buy construction materials but to kidnap the son of the owners of te store.
His mother was shot in the leg when she tried to intervene.
According to witnesses, the operation took some time.
The kidnap victim’s father was shot dead by criminals a few years ago in the same location.
