Mozambique: China staff rotate at Maputo Central Hospital

Maputo Central Hospital (HCM) last Friday (07-05) welcomed a new team of Chinese health professionals, replacing those who returned to their country of origin at the end of their mission.
The team consists of 12 members, including an interpreter, a cook and doctors from the specialties of Urology, Orthopaedics, Anaesthesia, Surgery, Gynaecology and Obstetrics, and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
During a reception held for the team, HCM Director General Mouzinho Saide said that, despite language doubtless constituting a barrier to communication, he welcomed the new members’ commitment and dedication, stressing that the training of Mozambicans and skills transfer should have their special attention.
The rotation of the Chinese health professionals takes place within the existing cooperation agreements between Mozambique and China.
