President of Mozambique Daniel Chapo has dismissed Eliseu Machava from the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Mozambique to the Republic of Cuba,.
The information is contained in a statement from the Presidency issued at the end of the day on Friday (24).
Eliseu Machava had held the position of Mozambique’s ambassador to Cuba since January 2018, having previously served as Frelimo Secretary General of Frelimo (2014-2017) and Governor of Cabo Delgado province (2007.- 2014) .
Before Machava’s dismissal, Daniel Chapo had, last week, urged Mozambican ambassadors to promote the attraction of more investment to the country, arguing that economic diplomacy should be prioritized.

“We believe it is very important for each of us to work to bring more investment to our country, because only then will we continue to develop Mozambique,” stressed the Mozambican head of state during a meeting with Mozambican diplomats at the Presidency of the Republic.
