The cement plant currently under construction in the village of Nhalicuni, in Changara district, Tete province, will be ready in February next year, raising expectations of a fall in the price of this product locally.
This projection was recently provided in the city of Tete by Provincial Director of Industry and Commerce (DPIC) Ofélio Jeremias, who said that work was already at an advanced stage, with only some plant still to be installed.
“The price of cement in the province will drop,” Jeremias said.
“This is one of the promises we got from the Indian businesspeople involved. The price currently charged is due to transport costs from Sofala, but we are going to reduce that distance, and Tete will be the priority in supply terms,” he added.
