Maputo was the epicentre of a memorable event for the Mozambique-USA Chamber of Commerce (CCMUSA), which took place last Wednesday evening and attracted the participation of more than 150 companies from various sectors, creating a favourable environment for business exchange and partnerships.
The Happy Hour is a CCMUSA practice that aims to promote exchanges between its members and partners, and this one was marked by a series of presentations and speeches that emphasised the importance of collaboration and innovation for economic growth.
In his speech, the President of the Mozambique-USA Chamber of Commerce, Onório Manuel, expressed his deep gratitude to everyone involved, praising the commitment that had made the event such a success. He also highlighted the importance of CCMUSA members who, through their hard work, have driven the organisation’s growth and contributed to strengthening trade relations between Mozambique and the United States of America.
Addressing the meeting, Secretary of State for Maputo City, Vicente Joaquim, praised CCMUSA’s essential role in promoting and developing the business environment and emphasised the importance of partnerships and collaboration in creating a more robust and dynamic economic environment.
‘CCMUSA is an experienced and robust organisation with more than three decades of promoting cooperation and opportunities that transcend borders. The Secretariat of State encourages CCMUSA to continue engaging in activities like Happy Hour so that it keeps moving forward. The Chamber is not just a business platform, but a true connector that establishes and develops collaborative networks between entrepreneurs and investors. It is a beacon of opportunity, guiding us in creating an environment where innovation flourishes and fruitful partnerships materialise,’ said the Maputo City Secretary of State.
For his part, the representative of Acero Building Systems, Amit Kumar, one of the event’s funding members, revealed his ambitious plans to invest in the national market, bringing innovation and new perspectives to the industry. The company was enthusiastic about the opportunities in the country and presented projects that promise to revolutionise the sector. Acero is a Dubai-based company specialising in customised steel construction solutions.
Representing the Finance Department of the Confederation of Economic Associations (CTA), Oldemiro Belchior presented Mozambique’s macroeconomic prospects for the coming years in structured sectors of the economy, given that the country has enough natural resources to drive economic development. Belchior also emphasised the need to make strategic investments that keep up with promising market trends and the importance of being aware of new opportunities and preparing for the future.
The vice-president of the Confederation of Economic Associations (CTA), Zuneid Calumia, emphasised the continued collaboration between CCMUSA and CTA, which has been vital for the country’s economic and sustainable development, given its positive impact.
This event not only celebrated past achievements, but also laid the foundations for new opportunities for collaboration and growth. With the participation of more than 150 companies from different sectors, a promising starting point was established for strengthening partnerships and developing innovative solutions in the national and international market.
