The Chamber of Commerce of Mozambique (CCM) last week received the Ambassador of Mozambique in Russia, Mateus Katupha.
At the working meeting, the ambassador explained the contours of the conflict and its effect on business between that country and Mozambique, having asserted that even in the context of conflict, there are great business opportunities in Russia for the Mozambican business community.
In his speech, Mateus Katupha also said that Mozambique, due to its geostrategic position, has aroused a lot of interest from Russian business-people in various sectors of activity, with the emphasis on technical-professional training, fertilizers, agro- processing, mining, oil and gas, and transportation.
“There is a big market in Russia for our cashew nuts,” he also said.
In turn, CCM thanked His Excellency the Ambassador for visiting and his openness to support national businesspeople intending to do business with that country.
“Your Excellency, this opening from our Embassy is a great boon for us as it will facilitate interaction with the Embassy and the local authorities in removing barriers or constraints that businesspeople may face in their transactions. It will certainly improve our ability to respond to business demands of the two countries,” concluded Lucas Chachine, President of the Board of the CCM Assembly.
In the end, the parties agreed to map out the services, products and areas of interest of the two parties, and disseminate them among entrepreneurs.
