Mozambique: Cache of rusted weapons found in a Maputo building – Watch

A total of nine weapons, together with more than 700 rounds of ammunition and military cleaning material, were found yesterday in a building on Avenida 24 de Julho, in the city of Maputo.

The discovery was made by a security guard, who alerted the building’s management and the Police of the Republic of Mozambique (PRM).

The material collected by the authorities shows signs of rust. Police suspect that it may date from the colonial era, prior to independence, and are investigating the possible existence of other hiding places on the site.
