Last year, the province of Cabo Delgado welcomed 53,000 tourists, of which more than 30,000 were domestic and just over 23,000 foreign.
During 2024, Director of the Provincial Services of Economic Activities of Cabo Delgado Daniel Agostinho said, the sector registered more than 78,000 overnight stays – 47,000 by nationals and 31,000 by foreigners.
Agostinho acknowledged that there was a reduction in the number of occupancies as a result of the post-electoral unrest the country had faced since October 2024, “which contributed to the decline in the movement of guests in the province”.
