Mozambique: Cholera infects almost 1,000 in Nampula province since October

Governor of Cabo Delgado, Valige Tauabo, on Tuesday (20-02) visited Sambene village in Mecúfi district, whose residents have, since the first fortnight of this month, been anxious because of the circulation of a group of terrorists in the region, reads a press release from the Provincial Government’s Information Bureau.
In addition to reassuring families there, Tauabo was also briefed about the situation regarding the intense rain, which had rendered some access roads impassable.
The governor learned that circulation by road to Sambene village was restricted due to difficulties in crossing four submerged roadways.
In conversation with residents who had had contact with terrorists, Tauabo, in addition to giving words of comfort and encouragement, reiterated the need to maintain vigilance and to eschew terrorism.
Tauabo learned that the group of insurgents that passed through Napuilimuithi village comprised around 30 men, mostly young.
Speaking to the press at the end of the visit, Governor Tauabo stressed the need forjournalists to seek information from reliable sources, and from people who have actually experienced the situation.
