According to a note sent to our Editorial Team, the review of that decree “aims to adapt the rules that regulate the functioning of the Deposit Guarantee Fund, within the scope of the management of the Deposit Guarantee System, applicable to credit institutions that capture deposits from the public, natural and legal persons, who hold deposits made with credit institutions, with a view to creating a new dynamic, as well as aligning them with good international practices and also introducing the aspect of financing resolution measures”.
The Council of Ministers on Tuesday (07-05) approved the review of Decree No. 61/2009 of October 8th, which created the Office of Assistance to Former Presidents of the Republic and Attendance of Superior State Directors (GADE).
According to the Council of Ministers, which issued a statement after its 14th session, the review of that instrument aims to “redefine the nature, supervision, duties, powers and functioning of GADE, to adapt them to the challenges imposed by the reforms, introduced by Law No. 1/2018, of 12 July, which reviews the Constitution of the Republic, in matters of Governance, which culminated in the creation of new Provincial Decentralized Governance bodies and State Representation bodies in the Province and City of Maputo, as well as per Law No. 33/2014, of December 30, which approves the Statute of the Leader of the Second Party with Parliamentary Seat”.
The 14th session of the Council of Ministers also approved the decree that reviews the regulations of the Deposit Guarantee Fund, an instrument approved by Decree No. 49/2010, of 11 November.
The Council of Ministers also approved regulations governing the provision and operation of the postal service, that is, an instrument that establishes the regime for the provision of postal services in the national and international territory, with origin or destination in the territory national, applicable to public or private entities that provide postal services, with physical and electronic access points.
