In Zambézia, the connection between the administrative post of Chirimane and Mucupia village in Inhassunge district has been affected by the collapse of a bridge connecting the two.
Inhassunge district administrator Bernardo Cutane confirmed the information on Sunday (20-10), noting that the bridge was built by the heavy sands mining company operating in the district as part of its social responsibility programme.
Cutane explained that the bridge collapsed before it was handed over to the district government, the second bridge to have collapsed not long after being completed.
While waiting for intervention, a more dangerous crossing was being made by small boat, he explained.
