Mozambique: Mopeia to have irrigation systems powered by national electric grid and solar energy
The Mozambican Chamber of Commerce must create opportunities for Mozambican and Botswana entrepreneurs to exchange experiences around business and the economy.
The idea was recently put forward by Álvaro Massingue, president of the Chamber of Commerce of Mozambique, after the signing of cooperation agreements in the areas of mining, energy, fuel, tourism and agribusiness with its counterpart in Botswana.
Speaking on the sidelines of the Mozambique-Botswana Business Forum, Massingue said that the agreements would facilitate business between entrepreneurs from the two countries.
The governors of Cabo Delgado and Maputo provinces, Valige Tuabo and Júlio Paruque, indicated the areas of mineral resources, agriculture, transport and communications as illegible for cooperation between Botswana and the two Mozambican provinces.
Governors Tuabo and Paruque were part of the presidential delegation on Filipe Nyusi’s recent state visit to Botswana.
The Mozambique-Botswana Business Forum took place from 13th to 14th of April, 2022, under the motto “Developing through Investments, Industrialization and Exports”, and aimed to publicise business opportunities involving Mozambique and Botswana, with a view to attracting investors and facilitating partnerships for investment projects. The Business Forum focused on the agribusiness, industry, special economic zones and industrial parks, infrastructure and logistics, and energy and tourism sectors.
Mozambique’s Agency for the Promotion of Investment and Exports (APIEX-IP) also participated in the business forum held in the context of the state visit of President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi to the Republic of Botswana.
