Mozambique: CTA advocates for tourism-focused economic diplomacy

The circulation of people at Mozambique’s borders increased by 29% in November, compared to the same month of 2017, a spokesman for the National Migration Service (Senami) of Mozambique announced on Friday.
Some 388,000 travellers crossed Mozambique’s borders the borders of Mozambique in the last month, up from around 301,000 in the same period of 2017 and most were foreign nationals, Celestino Matsinhe said.
The main nationalities in circulation were Mozambicans (43%), citizens of Malawi and (17%) and of Zimbabwe (15%).
The province of Maputo registered 42% of total border crossings, as it is the region where the country’s main international airport is located as well as the Ressano Garcia border, which is the main land connection with South Africa.
