The BomGarfo Business Lounge, designed by the BomGarfo Group to offer travellers comfort, elegance, and attentive service, opened on 24 September. Located in the international terminal of Maputo International Airport, the lounge provides a relaxed atmosphere, quality meals, networking opportunities, and high-speed Wi-Fi — ideal for those seeking productivity without sacrificing flavour.
The space is part of the BomGarfo experience, reaffirming the group’s commitment to select ingredients, exquisite presentation, and warm hospitality. The Business Lounge offers comfortable facilities and dedicated service, ensuring each visitor can fully enjoy their time while waiting for their next flight.
“We are inaugurating this space for all who value hospitality and productivity without compromising on flavour. A modern and sophisticated environment, designed to offer comfort, refinement, and excellent service to passengers, the BomGarfo Business Lounge provides a varied selection of quick meals, premium beverages, and personalised service. This facility is designed to ensure the wellbeing of passengers in transit, with infrastructure that supports both rest and work between flights. Our goal is to expand this lounge project to domestic terminals as well, in partnership with LAM, our flagship airline,” stated Francisco Inaque, CEO of BomGarfo.
Fredson Bacar, Secretary of State for Tourism, led the inauguration ceremony. He noted that the new lounge would add value to the Government’s Five-Year Plan (PQG), recalling President Daniel Francisco Chapo’s emphasis on transforming airports into “calling cards” that promote Mozambique’s image through tourism.
“The new lounge at Maputo International Airport is an important asset for tourism promotion,” said renowned Mozambican jazz saxophonist and composer Morreira Chonguiça, BomGarfo’s ambassador, highlighting the international standard of the facility and encouraging the Group to replicate this initiative at other airports nationwide.
Founded in 2003, BomGarfo was born from a passion for flavours and unique moments, combining meticulous techniques with hospitality to transform every visit into a special experience. The group’s goal has always been to bring to Mozambique a quality service that values both gastronomy and the experience of excellent service.
Initially, BomGarfo offered catering services, which have since been recognised by various entities for their comprehensive gastronomic experience, blending classic dishes with contemporary touches, while always supporting local producers.
In 2014, BomGarfo launched its gourmet service under the brand “BomGarfo Rodízio Gourmet Restaurant,” located in the heart of Maputo. This welcoming space specialises in all-you-can-eat meals and also offers a buffet, available from lunch through to dinner. The venue is multifunctional, featuring a cigar lounge and a private dining room. This gastronomic experience was later replicated in Vilankulo City, providing five-star service to residents and tourists in this paradisiacal destination in Inhambane province.
Since 2021, BomGarfo has managed the Mwenemutapa restaurant at the Rovuma Hotel, creating distinctive environments where private and business gatherings take on new meaning. With a varied menu, the Mwenemutapa restaurant caters to all tastes.
