The bodies of three miners buried since last Saturday night in a tourmaline mine in
Nhampassa, Báruè district, Manica province, were retrieved this Monday.
The operation also rescued two minors alive. They are receiving medical treatment at
Catandica District Hospital.
Bárue district administrator David Frank explained that the rescue operation began by hand
early on Sunday morning, later assisted by an excavating shovel machine.
Five miners were trapped when the mine collapsed due to the rain in the district.
