The Beira-Zimbabwe fuel pipeline, operated since 1984 by Companhia de Pipeline Moçambique-Zimbabwe, is to be managed under new models following the revocation, yesterday, of the decree that granted the operation of the pipeline to CPMZ.
The government has now delegated power to its ministers overseeing the areas of finance, mineral resources and energy, and transport and communications to approve the necessary mechanisms to ensure the continued exploitation of the infrastructure, without prejudice to the powers of other bodies.
According to Council of Ministers spokesperson Filimão Suaze, the work of the three ministers must also guarantee the continued utilisation of the pipeline and its benefits, as well as ensuring the stability of ongoing investments in the concession.
