BCI has donated IT equipment including desktop computers for the use of staff and pupils at the Mártires de Mbuzine Secondary School in the city of Maputo.
The action falls within the scope of the company’s social responsibility programme and is part of efforts by the bank to help meet the needs of the institutions that need it most.
Speaking after the handover, BCI’s central deputy director of marketing, Amílcar Aguiar, said: “We make this simple contribution, in the expectation that this computer equipment will respond to your needs efficiently and add greater value to the quality of your jobs. We are hopeful that this equipment will contribute to improving the quality of teaching and learning. We appeal to the direct beneficiaries to make good use of this equipment.”
School management thanked the bank for its support, saying that the equipment donated by BCI would contribute to improving the daily work carried out by teachers at the school, and the training of students in general.
Amílcar Aguiar add that “with this action that we have just witnessed”, BCI had “managed to reach another educational institution, and help it in its teaching and learning mission”.
