Mozambique has suspended the import of live of live poultry, birds and poultry products from South Africa, due to an outbreak of bird flu in this neighbouring country, Rádio Moçambique reports.
Furthermore, and according to a statement from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADER), Mozambique has confirmed the first case of avian influenza, in the district of Morrumbene, Inhambane province. In view of this situation, the government ordered the restriction of the movement of birds and poultry products in Morrumbene district and the reinforcement of virus prevention and surveillance measures across the national territory.
