President of Frelimo Filipe Nyusi has called on party secretaries in Tete to avoid making constant demands on economic agents.
For Filipe Nyusi, repeated requests can drive business people away to other districts.
The Frelimo president was speaking in the city of Tete on Saturday (05-03) at a gala organised by the Associação Amigos de Nyusi (Association Friends of Nyusi) to launch the “One Family, One House” project.
“Don’t look on entrepreneurs as people who have, and so we can knock on their door every day. He will run away from us. But when he thinks that my profit can be shared, as they are doing, then take advantage of it and raise more, I also say that to the municipalities and administrators. When it is said that business is difficult in Mozambique, it is often because of what we ask for which is not regulated. We ask for things and people run away from us. That ‘refresco’ thing, that ‘hand washing’ thing – why don’t you wash your hands at your own house?” Nyusi said.
