Minister of Industry and Commerce Silvino Moreno is leading a Mozambican delegation of more than 50 members to the 3rd China-Africa Economic and Trade Exhibition (CAETE) in Changsha City, Hunan Province, the People’s Republic of China, from June 29th to July 2nd.
Of the delegation, 20 members are businesspeople from various sectors of economic activity and 35 are from the public sector, including representatives of the provinces of Maputo, Cabo Delgado, Inhambane and Zambézia.
This year’s CAETE exhibition was held under the motto “Common Development for a Shared Future”.
The event is organized by the Department of Commerce of Hunan province in partnership with the Bureau of Commercial Development of the Ministry of Commerce of China, and aims to promote business opportunities and the potential of exports in the Chinese market.
Mozambique has been designated an event “Partner Country”, with a pavilion to exhibit its products and services. In addition to the international exhibition, the delegation will participate in thematic conferences and seminars.
The event covers the sectors of Agriculture, Mineral Resources and Energy, Tourism, Infrastructure, Industry, Oil and Gas, among others, in which it is thought the Mozambican business community can profitably establish partnerships.

CAETE is a platform created to build a new mechanism for economic and trade cooperation between China and Africa, as well as for the implementation of new economic and trade initiatives within the scope of FOCAC, and presents a new window for strengthening economic cooperation with Africa.
