Mozambique is taking part in the 19th edition of the Meetings Africa Business Tourism Fair, which officially opens today in the South African city of Sandton.
Meetings Africa is considered the leading pan-African event for the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions industry.
Four hundred and ten exhibitors have confirmed their presence this year, representing one hundred and thirteen small and medium-sized companies from twenty-six African countries.
Until tomorrow, these exhibitors will interact with three hundred buyers from the four corners of the world, in more than eight thousand scheduled meetings.
Mozambique is bringing ten exhibitors from the public and private sectors, hotels, travel and tourism agencies and conference rooms to this edition.
The organizers say that Meetings Africa continues to grow as a powerful platform to promote pan-African collaboration and economic impact on the continent.
In fact, this year’s edition will feature, for the first time, exhibitors from Morocco, Madagascar, Guinea Conakry and Chad.
South Africa is looking to capitalize on the 19th edition of Meetings Africa, as it will take place in a year in which the country hosts the G20 summit, the forum for international economic cooperation.
South African Minister of Tourism Patricia de Lille is expected to address her official opening speech in this regard.
The Secretary of State for Tourism, Fredson Bacar, is expected to attend the opening ceremony on Tuesday.
