The Mozambican Tax Authority (AT) and the Confederation of Business Associations of Mozambique (CTA) have expressed their full openness to increasingly fruitful inter-institutional cooperation, through increased dialogue in favour of taxpayer convenience and a sustainable economy.
The information was shared by the presidents of the AT and of the CTA, Aníbal Mbalango and Álvaro Massingue respectively, at a courtesy meeting at the tax authority headquarters on Friday morning (04-07).
The president of AT shared with CTA the target of approximately 385.8 billion meticais set for this year, and that, according to the AT director, in order to achieve it, he relies on the collaboration of CTA and its members to strictly comply with tax legislation and its procedures.
Therefore, “this meeting is timely and relevant to deepen the dialogue between the parties, taking into account, among other aspects, the pressing modernization of tax administration and ensuring the convenience of the taxpayer”.
The president of the CTA thanked the AT for its openness and stated that the meeting represented a strategic opportunity for the association to express its willingness to discuss tax policy and reform.
