President of the Sofala Provincial Assembly Antónia Charre has denounced the influx by sea, through Savane, of foreign individuals to the city of Beira. calling for greater vigilance on the part of government officials.
Individuals, apparently of foreign nationality and dressed in religious robes, have been entering the city of Beira by sea for about a month, the President of the Provincial Assembly of Sofala claimed on Monday.
Quoting witnesses in Savane, Nhangau administrative post, city of Beira, Antónia Charre complained of the arrival by sea of individuals wearing apparently religious garments, saying, during a weekly public health emergency meeting, that the individuals concerned, after disembarking, asked which way it was to the city of Beira.
The President of the Assembly also explained that, from the conversation she had had with people in Savane, she had learned that no one knew the individuals, nor was it certain how many had already entered the city of Beira in this fashion.
Governor of Sofala, Lourenço Bulha, is already aware of the entry of the alleged foreigners, and says that that a police post is being built in the region in question.
The police commander Sofala said the police station would be operational by the end of the week, and a mobile police brigade had in the meantime been deployed in the place where the alleged foreigners were entering the country.
The ten Pakistanii citizens currently detained in Beira central jail on suspicion of conspiracy were apprehended in the same region last April, apparently adrift ln a powerless craft.
