Mozambique, through its National Roads Administration (ANE) and the Mozambique Road Network (REVIMO), has signed two cooperation protocols with the state-owned China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC).
Witnessed by the Minister of Transport and Logistics, João Jorge Matlombe, the signing of the agreements will allow the construction of 78 kilometres of road in the province of Inhambane and mobilise a public-private partnership to build the access road to the port of Beira.
These agreements are part of the work carried out by the Mozambican delegation to the 16th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum and Exhibition (IIICF) between the People’s Republic of China and Portuguese-Speaking Countries, held on 11 June in Macau under the motto: “Integration and Symbiosis to Build a Sustainable Future”.

During this forum, Minister Matlombe shared Mozambique’s challenges in building resilient infrastructure, particularly roads, in the context of climate change, characterized by the increase in the magnitude and frequency of extreme weather events such as floods and cyclones.
