Mozambique and Angola are priority partners for China in Africa

Mozambique and Angola are in the group of three African countries group where China will prioritise investment in industrialisation, construction of roads, railways, ports, industrial parks and special economic zones, in order to develop the economy, Mozambican daily newspaper Notícias reported.

The newspaper said the information was given by the director for Africa at the Chinese Foreign Ministry Li Songtian, during the Fifth Conference of Sino-African Strategists, the “China-Africa Thinks Tanks Forum” which brought together African and Chinese academics in Zhejiang province.

As well as Mozambique China has chosen Angola and Egypt as priority partners Cooperation for Creation of Productive Capacity.

Li also said that Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania and the Democratic Republic of Congo are on the list of the countries to install pilot projects and be pioneers in industrial alignment, while South Africa will serve as a vector for industrialisation.

Speaking at the forum’s opening ceremony, Li Songtian said that China intends to continue the intensive development model to ensure interaction and harmony between construction of infrastructure and industrial development.

“Africa has potential in terms of human resources, market and natural resources, while China has expertise in technology, training of human resources and we need to export our industrial capacity to African countries,” he said.

The Mozambican delegation was composed of representatives of Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM), the Ado Higher Institute of International Relations (ISRI), and heads of the UEM colleges, UniZambeze, UniLúrio and Language Institute.
