All leave for the approximately 3,000 agents of the National Criminal Investigation Service (SERNIC) has been suspended until the government takes office after the controversial October 15 elections, a report by ‘Carta de Moçambique’ claims.
According to the report, those currently on vacation are required to return to work immediately.
The measure is contained in an internal order (Service Order No 07 / DG2019) signed by the Director-General of the Police Investigation Agency, Domingos Jofane.
“All vacations are prohibited for all SERNIC members at all levels until the inauguration of the new Constitutional Government in the Republic of Mozambique,” the document reads.
The order is dated October 14, one day before the elections.
