The number of airline passengers in Mozambique went down but air freight increased in the first quarter of 2018 the Mozambican National Statistics Institute (INE) said on Thursday.
The number of air passengers fell 19.1% compared with the previous quarter and 0.8% compared with the same period in 2017, the INE said.
On the other hand, air freight increased 27.2% compared with the previous quarter and 25.3%, compared with 12 months earlier.
Rail passenger traffic also increased, up 1.5% compared with the previous year and 14.4% on the previous quarter.
Rail freight was 8.4% down on 3 months earlier, but 7.7% up compared with the same period in 2017.
