Mozambique has registered 82 more positive cases of coronavirus, raising the total to 3,590 and remaining with 21 deaths, the Ministry of Health informed on Wednesday (August 27).
The new cases are distributed among Maputo (03), Nampula (01), Tete (01), Sofala (15), Gaza (01) and Maputo city (61) provinces.
“The cases reported today are in home isolation. At this moment the process of mapping their contacts is underway,” adds the statement.
Of the 3,590 infections that the country has registered, 3,332 cases are of local transmission and 258 cases are imported.
The Ministry of Health accounts for 1,927 individuals (53%) fully recovered, and there is also a record of 21 deaths.
Maputo city registers the highest number of active infections, with 938, followed by Nampula province, with 210, and Cabo Delgado, with 184, and the remaining regions continue with less than 150 active cases.
Since the announcement of the first case on March 22, the country has tested a total of 90,566 suspects and just over 1.8 million people have been screened.
