Mozambique: Intermodal integration of urban transport between the cities of Maputo and Matola has ...
About seven hundred commercial brands were registered in Mozambique during the first quarter of this year, with a total of 4,000 expected to be registered by the end of the year.
This is according to the director general of the Institute of Industrial Property, Jose Meque, who was addressing a seminar on patents in Maputo on Monday in the framework of World Intellectual Property Day, due to be marked on Thursday 26 April.
The occasion is this year celebrated under the motto: ‘Powering change: Women in innovation and creativity’.
The World Intellectual Property Day is celebrated on April 26 every year, with the aim of publicising the role that intellectual property rights like patents, trademarks, industrial designs and copyright play in encouraging innovation and creativity.
Meque said that the intellectual property industry was trying to encourage the registration of innovations, and working with various national universities to that end.
