Mozambique: Government meets all indicators to be removed from 'grey list'

The Minister in the Presidency for Civil Affairs, Ricardo Sengo, on Thursday (12-06) met a delegation from the private sector, led by CTA president Álvaro Massingue, as part of the preparations for the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of national independence.
The main objective of the meeting was to strengthen the collaboration between the government and the private sector in the organization of the festivities, whose central ceremony will take place at the Machava stadium on June 25, with high-ranking national and international guests in attendance.
During the session, the Councillor for Infrastructure and Health of the Maputo Municipal Council, João Munguambe, presented the ongoing activities in the areas of cleaning and rehabilitation of infrastructure and public spaces, as well as decoration, events and promotion of tourism.
On the occasion, CTA president Álvaro Massingue pledged that the private sector was committed to mobilising companies and entrepreneurs, considering that participating in these celebrations is a gain for each economic actor, as it represents an opportunity to contribute to a historic milestone that honours Mozambicans and national companies.
Minister Ricardo Sengo stressed that the success of the celebrations depends on joint work between the government, the private sector and public companies, reinforcing the importance of active and coordinated involvement.
Present at the meeting, the Chair of the Board of Directors of the State Holdings Management Institute (IGEPE ), Ana Senda, assured that the companies in which the state has a stake are also involved, working to ensure concrete contributions in their sectors of activity.
The mobilization of support is already underway, and several companies have joined the initiative, such as Transportes Catoja, Nifiquili, Help, Continental, Afrin, Cotur, Mondego, Teixeira Duarte, Testop, Clean África, MozParks and Apturma, including FEMATRO.
More companies are expected to join the cause in the coming days.
The celebrations of the 50th anniversary of National Independence represent a moment of unity and affirmation of the collective commitment to the country’s progress.
