A new coalition of 47 non-parliamentary parties has announced it will support Renamo and its leader, Afonso Dhlakama, in the 2018 municipal elections and 2019 general elections. The aim is to get Frelimo out of power.
João Massango, President of the Earth Movement ecology party [Partido Ecologista, Movimento da Terra], says that this coalition will help to direct the vote.
The decision to support Renamo came out of a meeting that brought together representatives of non-parliamentary parties at the Bilene tourist board in Gaza province last week.
