Another 25 boats, each carrying 30 to 40 people displaced from conflict zones in Cabo Delgado, landed at Paquitequete beach in Pemba, the provincial capital, on Saturday.
Around 700 people from the Quirimbas Archipelago, and from communities of Olumboa, Guludo, Ntoni, Kirimizi and Mucojo, in Macomia district, disembarked at the beach, the majority of them women and children.
Some of the people arriving in Paquitequete (Pemba), since Saturday, after fleeing violence in northern Cabo Delgado, are visibly unwell. They have reportedly spent 4 days in a boat. I understand medical assistance provided by the state only arrived today. pic.twitter.com/n5qH5FgVi9

Macomia district is the latest target of the terrorists who, last week, tried, without success, to once more invade the district headquarters town. Macomia, like the rest of the province’s districts (including those not attacked) is described as being in a state of high tension.
Terrorist attacks have already killed more than 1,000 people and displaced more than 300,000 in Cabo Delgado, whose provincial government is creating resettlement neighbourhoods in the districts of Ancuabe, Metuge, Montepuez and Chiúre.
