As of this Thursday (02), Mozambique had registered another 15 Covid-19 cases, in Niassa, Cabo Delgado, Nampula, Gaza and Maputo provinces, bringing the total to 918. Five children were among the newly diagnosed, raising to 82 the number of minors with Covid- 19. @Verdade has learned that one of the children is hospitalised.
After testing 666 more samples, 128 in private sector laboratories, 15 new infected individuals were identified, all Mozambican citizens who are now in isolation at home, the National Director of Public Health announced.
“One case in the province of Niassa (City of Lichinga), which results from surveillance in health units; ten cases in the Province of Cabo Delgado (six in the City of Pemba and four in the District of Mueda), both resulting from the tracking of positive case contacts; one case in Nampula Province (Nampula City), which results from surveillance in health units; one case in Gaza Province (Xai-Xai City), which resulted in the tracking of positive case contacts; and two cases in the Province of Maputo (one in the District of Manhiça and one in the City of Matola), both result from surveillance in the Health Units,” Dr Rosa Marlene enumerated.
According to the Public Health Authority, eleven of the newly infected are male and four female. One is in the 55-64 age group, another in the 45-54 age group, three in the 35-44 age group, four are in the 25-34 age group, one is in the 15-24 age group, and five are children, three in the age group of 5-14 years and two are under five years of age.
The five children identified on Thursday increase the cumulative number of minors with the new coronavirus to 82, 29 of them less than four years old. @Verdade has learned that a 4-year-old girl is among the seven citizens hospitalised with Covid-19 in Mozambique.
