Mozambique: 1,159 awarded the Medal for Veterans of the Liberation Struggle

The President of the Republic on Wednesday, distinguished, through a presidential decree, 1,159 Mozambican citizens with the Medal for Veterans of the Liberation Struggle of Mozambique.
According to a press release from the Presidency of the Republic, the distinction comes in recognition of their active participation in the fight for the liberation of the Mozambican homeland, on the fronts of armed or clandestine struggle, diplomatic combat and information and propaganda, the battle for the triumph of independence, as well as for selfless efforts valuing the conquests of national independence, Mozambicanity and national development.
To this end, the head of state delegated powers to the secretaries of state of Maputo city and of all provinces in the country to impose insignia of honorary titles and decorations on national citizens and legal persons on the coming 25th of June.
