Mozambique: 11 terrorists killed in Quissanga – AIM

The Mozambican defence and security forces killed 12 islamist terrorists in operations in Quissanga district, in the northern province of Cabo Delgado, on Wednesday, according to a report on the unofficial website “Noticias de Defesa”.
During these clashes the Mozambican forces destroyed an advance observation and control post on the approaches to the terrorist bases known as Syria 1 and Syria 2.
Among the dead was a woman who had been seen shouting instruction in Swahili to other members of the group.
“Noticias de Defesa” also reports that terrorists attacked the town of Mocimboa da Praia on Thursday morning. The attack began at about 04.00, but the defence forces returned fire, and drove the attackers to seek refuge in the houses of civilians.
The Mozambican forces then began a house to house search to flush out the terrorists. No further details are yet available.
