Japanese Delegation visits Mozal-Beluluane Industrial Park to strengthen ties with Mozambique
The "Rifa IVA" will be launched in March
The Mozambican Tax Authority (AT) is introducing a raffle called “RIFA IVA” to boost the demand for VAT invoices in shops.
According AT director Amelia Nakhare, the measure will encourage the many traders who do not issue receipts for purchases to start doing so, thus putting money into the state coffers.
According to Diario de Moçambique, Nakhare told commercial agents in Beira, Sofala province, that both buyers and sellers could win the VAT raffle.
Nakhare explained that “for billing, we have elected VAT as the ‘Tax of the Year’, because it brings the billing to us. It is VAT which brings us all other taxes”.
The “Rifa IVA” will be launched in March, reports TVM.
