South Africa: Fly Modern Ark sues LAM Mozambique Airlines over unpaid fees - report
The Tax Authority (AT) of Mozambique intends to extend the tax payment system to various parts of the country through the country’s commercial banks. This facility is currently only available to the Large Taxpayers Units of Maputo and Matola, an AT official said recently.
Mozambican daily newspaper Notícias, reported that this system allows the taxpayer to submit tax files via the Internet and make payments through the bank, and the bank transfers the revenue to the Treasury Single Account within 48 hours of collection.
As well as making it easier for taxpayers to meet their tax obligations, this system prevents tax posts from having to deal with the risk of carrying large sums of money to the bank.
Carlos Fafetine, manager of the e-Taxation Project, recently said that the e-Statement enables the submission of Value Added Tax (VAT), Simplified Tax for Small Taxpayers (ISPC) Company Tax ( IRPC) and Tax on Personal Income (IRPS).
Carlos Fafetine also said the Taxpayer Portal was being prepared. Through the new portal taxpayers have the opportunity to interact with the AT dynamically and independently.
