Mozambique and Angola deepen economic and cultural cooperation
The Mozambican currency appreciated again against the US dollar and the Euro last week, according to the central bank’s average reference exchange rates.
The metical gained a few cents against the US currency for the fifth consecutive week, adding up to an appreciation of about 1.7 meticais.
The US dollar is the base currency for reference currencies for other currencies in Mozambique.
During last week, the dollar was bought in Mozambique for an average 59.85 meticais, 41 metical cents less than the previous week.
Sale proceeded at 61.04 meticais, 42 metical cents less.
The daily average purchase price of the US dollar ranged between 59.64 and 60.01 meticais, while the sale price ranged between 60.82 and 61.20 meticais.
Meanwhile, the Euro was bought on average in the last week at 73.96 meticais, 34 metical cents cheaper than the previous week.
The sale was made at 75.43 meticais, down 35 cents on the previous week.
The daily average purchase price of the Euro ranged between 73.42 and 74.25 meticais, while the asking price ranged between 74.87 and 75.72 meticais.
