Mozambican judge Carlos Mondlane was re-elected President of the International Union of Portuguese-Speaking Judges (UIJLP) in Lisbon yesterday (19-12).
Headquartered in Portugal, the UIJLP is an international organisation that brings together actors in the administration of justice in Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe and East Timor.
The UULP seeks to consolidate the independence of the judiciary, dignifying the career of judges and raising values of ethics and deontology for full professional performance, in addition to acting as a vehicle for sharing friendship and culture among members.
Carlos Mondlane is also the president of the Mozambican Association of Judges.
