Police in Cabo Delgado, northern Mozambique, are asking the public to help locate journalist Ibraimo Abu Mbaraco, who has been missing since the 7th of this month.
Police spokesman Augusto Guta says the corporation started to investigate as soon as requested to do so by the journalist’s family, but so far without success.
“We have found no trace of Mr. Mbaruco, so we are asking people, if they know anything of his whereabouts, to contact the police,” Guta says.
The appeal comes after pressure from national and international organisations on authorities to investigate the disappearance of the young Palma Community Radio journalist and broadcaster.
Regarding probable next steps, Guta said: “We are working (…) and we will communicate again, because it is our job to secure the physical integrity” of all citizens.
