Mozambique: Brera gives up on Moçambola
Former Mozambican international football referee Issufo Costa died at home on Wednesday, February 24, and was buried in the Manga Hindu cemetery in Beira city on Thursday.
A commemoration ceremony in the Beira municipal council auditorium was attended by personalities from different areas of life, including sports, politics and culture. The occasion celbrated the achievements of Issufo Costa as an football player and international referee.
Among those present at the ceremony was the President of the Business Council of Sofala, Jorge Fernandes, who recalled having played soccer with Costa in various Beira city football teams.
Sports councilor in the Municipal Council of Beira, Jose Luis, highlighted the qualities of Issufo Costa as an exemplary sportsman and renowned international referee.
Issufo Costa died aged 72, and leaves a widow, eight children and 10 grandchildren.
