Mozambique: Work resumes on 'Julius Nyerere'
The head of state, Filipe Nyusi, speaks to the nation about the year about to end, in a solemn session with no right to ask questions, as the Assembly of the Republic (AR) rules.
The speech of the head of state is a requirement that derives from the Constitution of the Republic and will be the penultimate of Nyusi in the current term, which ends in January 2020, as he took office in January 2015 for a period of five years.
The head of state’s information on “The State of the Nation” was followed by debate and questions from deputies in the first multi-party legislature in Mozambique, which ran from 1994 to 1999, but the practice was later abandoned.
