The Mozambican government is to extend the deadline for biometric testing of government officials by another two weeks, the National Institute of Social Security announced.
The process, which began on 16 October, will now be completed on 9 December, according to a statement released on Tuesday.
So far, proof-of-life tests corresponding to 57 percent of total pensions initially targeted, or about 165,000, have been carried out, the document adds.
Among the reasons for the extension of the deadline is the need to include new pensions starting between August and October and to compensate for delays at the beginning of the process.
