Mozambique: Peace Parks to invest 4.6 million dollars in Banhine
A Mozambican man is expected to appear in the Malamulele Magistrates Court this morning on a charge of unlawful possession of elephant tusks.
He was arrested at the weekend by the Hawks’ organised crime unit.
The suspect entered the Kruger National Park and was stopped by the park’s rangers.
The Hawks’ Matimba Maluleke said: “His car was seized and two elephant tusks, hidden between maize meal bags, were found. He was arrested.”
Maluleke added that investigations were ongoing.
