Mozambique: Chapo inaugurates tourism project budgeted at 140 million dollars in Massingir, Gaza
Some Mozambique Airlines (LAM) flights are in danger of being cancelled due to a shortage in fuel supply in the north of the country, a company source told Lusa on Friday.
At stake is the route from Nampula, where the aircraft which is normally refuelled, then stopping in Tete before travelling on to Johannesburg, South Africa, and returning along the same route.
According to the same source, two flights were cancelled on this route last week.
Connections which refuel in Pemba, 200 kilometres north of Nampula, and also a provincial capital, may also be affected.
The LAM source said that the situation was due to the difficulties the current fuel supplier was having ensuring an adequate supply to the company.
“If these the difficulties are not overcome, LAM will look for an alternative supplier,” the source said.
