Mozambican currency stable against the Euro, depreciates slightly against US dollar

The metical remained stable against the Euro and depreciated slightly against the US dollar last week, according to the central bank’s daily average exchange rates. (The US dollar is used as the calculation basis for the exchange rates of other currencies in Mozambique.)

Last week, the dollar was bought in Mozambique at an average of 59.52 meticais, 20 metical cents more than the previous week.

Sale took place at 60.75 meticais, 29 metical cents more.

The daily average purchase price of the US dollar varied between 59.48 and 59.54 meticais, while the asking price ranged between 60.64 and 60.98 meticais.

As for the Euro, it was bought in Mozambique last week for an average 70.59 meticais, unchanged from the previous week.

Sale took place at 71.99 meticais Euro, five metical cents more than last week.

The daily average purchase price of the Euro varied between 70.16 and 71.24 meticais, while the asking price ranged between 71.22 and 71.88 meticais.
