Mozambique: Public debt rises 2.7% in Q1

The Mozambican currency appreciated slightly against the Euro last week and remained almost unchanged against the US dollar, according to daily exchange rates released by the central bank and tracked by Lusa.
During the past week, the Euro was bought in the country at an average of 68.36 meticais, 25 metical cents less than in the previous week, while the sale price averaged 69.70 meticais, 26 metical cents cheaper.
The US dollar was bought on average in the last week for 60.07 meticais, while the sale was made on average at 61.25 meticais, that is, with only marginal variations from last week.
The US currency is used as the basis for calculating the reference exchange rates of other currencies in Mozambique.
