Mozambican currency appreciates; Euro remains at 12-month low against the Metical

The Mozambican currency appreciated slightly against the Euro during the last week, with the Euro’s price remaining at a 12-month low at the central bank’s benchmark exchange rates .

The Euro cost 65.82 meticais on average last week, 39 metical cents less than the previous week. Sale was made at 67.14 meticais per Euro, 38 metical cents cheaper.

The daily average purchase price of the Euro varied between 65.43 and 66.49 meticais, while the sale price varied between 66.74 and 67.82 meticais.

The US dollar, the currency used to calculate the reference exchange rates for other currencies in Mozambique, was purchased for 57.86 meticais on average, 58 metical cents more than the previous week.

The sale was made at 59.01 meticais per US dollar, 59 metical cents more.

The US dollar daily average purchase price ranged between 57.42 and 58.38 meticais, while the asking price ranged between 58.57 and 59.55 meticais.
