The National Electoral Commission (CNE) has awarded a sole source contract to the company Académica Uniprint for the supply of voter registration material for the 2019 general elections, the electoral body announced on Thursday, November 15.
CNE’s spokesman Paulo Cuinica told a press conference that the company would supply 3,000 voter registration machines, worth 550 million meticais (EUR 7.9 million), in the planned first phase.
The second phase provides for Académica Uniprint supplying registration bulletins, training material, accessories and printing ink budgeted at 450 million meticais (EUR 6.48 million).
The CNE decided to award the two no-bid contracts to the company on the basis of its experience in providing electoral material and its track record of ensuring the necessary quality and quantity standards.
Dates for voter registration and the 2019 general elections vote have not yet been set.
